Informatica acquires Master Data Management specialist Siperian for $130m

Data integration firm Informatica has acquired Siperian, a leader in Master Data Management (MDM), for $130m.
MDM technology helps delivers a single view
of customer, employee and product data to firms. Public sector organisations
can also use MDM to get a single view of their citizen data.
“Our acquisition of Siperian will expand
Informatica’s addressable market with an additional high-growth, adjacent
technology category - MDM infrastructure - and will further strengthen
our key strategic partnerships,” said Sohaib Abbasi, CEO of Informatica.
“Informatica Data Integration and Data Quality products and services have a
proven track record of enabling successful MDM projects."
According to analyst Forrester, 49% of
organisations were planning to implement or expand their use of MDM software
last year. Siperian's existing customers include Pfizer, Bank of America, State
Street Bank and Lexis Nexis.
